Long before someone decides to ask you out, their autonomic nervous system has already made the decision. By learning to read these subconscious micro-behaviors, you eliminate the terrifying uncertainty of "Do they like me?" entirely.
Understanding the 'Baseline'
Before reading attraction, you must establish their baseline. Are they a naturally touchy, energetic person with everyone? If so, them touching your arm might just be their baseline. Attraction is a deviation from their baseline directed specifically at you.
1. Subconscious Preening
When someone is attracted to you, their brain sends a sudden command to optimize their appearance. Men will quickly straighten their posture, adjust their watch, or touch their jaw. Women will expose their neck, smooth their clothing, or run their hands through their hair.
2. Proximity and Foot Angle
We subconsciously point our feet toward the thing we desire most or the exit we want to take. If you are talking to someone in a group, look down. Even if their shoulders are square to the group, if their feet are pointing directly at you, you have their primary attention.
3. The Pupil Dilation Tells All
Under appropriate lighting, when we look at something we find highly attractive, our pupils dilate to let in more light so we can see it better. It is an impossible-to-fake biological response.
